You know what? I noticed that setting a limit to myself on how much or how little I should talk about the pregnancy was not a good thing. Somehow I've felt so restricted by it that I haven't really wanted to write at all and still, the thing is that I really LIKE writing this blog a lot. Usually I don't mind restrictions when it comes to writing - it's the journalism background I have - so this was a bit surprsing, too.
This little one is, despite the fact that he is now only 7cm in length from head to bottom, such a huge part of everything in our lives that not talking about him or the pregancy seems plain odd :). So, here's an update. We went to the doctor's today for an ultrasound that was scary because it was about looking for any possible and visible defects. Not a nice starting point, although, understandable.
However, we only received good news! We saw our beutiful little baby busy showing us all his moves like he should and he had everything he should: a great, little, completely whole spine, a strong and steady heart beat and a great little nose, which apparently is significant, too. He is where he should be and all of the external things - that is in respect to him - were as they should be, too. We could not have gotten better news and as a bonus the baby is one week older than expected so we're back to March 22nd as his due date. That's Easter Saturday by the way :). Husband is a bit disappointed about the date change, since he found the April fool's day prospect entertaining, despite my objections.
On the other hand, I have been busy trying to convince the baby that 38 weeks is quite enough of pregnancy and he'd be most welcome to come anytime we've reached that. It'd be nice to get home for Easter but I suspect I've got very little to say about this anyway. If he decides to go for 42 weeks Husband might get to have fun with April fool's anyway :).
Incidentally we do not know yet weather he is indeed a he but for now and for convenience sake I'll refer to the baby as he - since I'm still convinced that he is a he. We're not planning on keeping his gender a secret for ourselves or for others so when ever we know I'll tell you, too.

In the picture the little plus signs help to determine the size of the baby. 1 cm=the length between two plusses.

Somebody just mentioned coffee break so I'm off now. Have a great week!

Lämpimät onnittelut raskaudesta sinulle ja miehellesi! Kiva kuulla että suku taas laajenee... :)
Terv. pikkuserkkusi Anu
Kiitos, kiitos :). Tällä hetkellä tosin se mikä laajenee eniten on tuo masu :).
Hello!
Nice to have found you have a blog and also lovely to get to know that you really ARE having a baby! Congratulations! I was kind of suspecting it, but then again, being away the whole summer from Turku hasn't given me the possibility to ask or even hear.
I'm so happy for you and your husband. Wish you all the best!
Love and sunshine,
