Happy New Year 2009!

Christmas holiday for us has been of the quiet kind in our household - apart from periodical coughing and sneezing. Husband spent Christmas Eve and Day semiconcious with a cold he'd been fighting off for a week. I spent a part of Christmas Eve watching Mamma Mia dvd which I got from Husband and thoroughly enjoying myself while both the little and bigger Pusa slept.

We got the nicest presents from godparents, grandparents and friends. I was really pleased with something as simple as pantyhose for little girl. Two of her godmothers had wisely gotten her some. She now has four pairs that are really cute and nice and warm.

I myself have been too slow to buy them quite simply because I remember how I always hated pantyhose. As a child they always, always seemed to be too short. However, they really are the best thing for this weather and little girl looks so cute wearing them. In addition, the skin on her ankles tends to get very dry and irritated and pantyhose are the softest option to wear.

Little girl received a very handy warm wollen overall which we took to use immediately. And auntygrandma had knitted her something really special. Little girl got toys too, of course, and the greatest thing was that her cousins' mom and godmom send us tons of the boys' books in addition to toys that the boys don't play with anymore. Little girl now has a tractor to play with :).

My very favourite gift was the earlier mentioned Mamma Mia. It is the ultimate feel good movie (thank you sweetie!).

My cold started Christmas night with a sore throat and I'm now just getting over it. With reckless abandon little girl's grandma and grandpa came to visit Christams Day. It was great to have them and it seems that they managed to not get colds themselves. This morning little girl woke up with the sniffles and we hope that she'll have it easier than the two of us.

She also was pretty fussy during the night but around here it sounded like a war had started with all the fireworks going on from 6 p.m. on, so that must have made her restless, too. Its incredible how much noise people like to make on New Year's Eve. I guess things that go BOOOOOM!!! are fun.

With and without BOOOOOM!!! our whole family would like to wish you all a very happy New Year. May it be filled with lots of love and joy :).
