Well, the doctor called yesterday and I'm sorry to not have posted anything then but I was pretty exhausted. The good news is that - and these are very good news indeed - none of the tests came back positive. There is nothing to indicate that my kidneys or anything else "higher up" like the doctor said is malfunctioning. There was nothing to indicate hormonal problems either. Yay!
We're extremely relieved because it has to be admitted that we've been worried sick. The thing is, however, that the original problem is, thus, as unresolved as ever. BUT what I am thinking with very limited understanding of anything that perhaps the problem quite simply is that my bladder is too small - at least in comparison to the amount of pee it needs to deal with. The good thing is that the cystoscopy in March will tell us if that's the case. It can be widened, too, although, ouch! They do do it in anesthesia, though :).
Our theory is that the fact that both my poor bladder and my stomach have been acting up is that the pregnancy was a bit too much for both. Little girl's head was pressing on the bladder from the left side for more than two months and the reflux symptoms I have started during pregnancy. They're very common for expecting moms and in my case I think it may have been that my body just didn't bounce back quite as well as it could have. Being 39 when you have your first child would do that.
The weird thing is that it took almost and year and a half before the symptoms started to be so severe that I wanted to talk to a doctor. But then again I was nursing almost the entire time and VERY sleep deprived :).
For now I'm really tired. My tummy decided to get upset - stress has that effect - and I haven't slept particularily well. Husband said that he's putting me to bed for the weekend and, honestly, that sounds like pure heaven to me. It's not going to happen since little girl won't get the idea but I might get a nap on both days.
Little girl and I went sleding for the first time today and took a little walk on the tiny river that runs very close to us. It was great that little girl dared to come on the sled with me for the first time. Our neighbors have a trailer for their car in front of their appartment and little girl was absolutely fashinated by it. We walked to it and back three times. Now she is fast asleep for her nap :).
PS. The one horrible piece of news there was is that chocolate worsens reflux symptoms. I knew this since, well, it does, but oih!
