Baptism of our neighbors' little boy

I had the pleasure of baptizing our neighbors' little boy and this of course meant that little girl needed to get a party dress :). Daddy and I thought she looked absolutely adorable in her preppy dress and jugding by the first photo she wasn't all too displeased herself - she is looking at herself in the mirror.

This was the cake, isn't it just darling?

My daughter :).

And Ellanalle, too.

Our little virus/bacteria magnet has had a new cold but it manifested itself solely as sniffles - untill Tuesday that is. I then went to get her from kindergarten an found a very tried and miserable looking girl. At home she started crying and the silly mommy I am I tried to ask if someone had been mean to her or if something else had happened. It was only when she didn't want to eat even ice cream and wanted to go to our bed to nap and started crying there that I finally got that she is sick and quite probably it's her ears. She is too small and also too much of a trooper to tell me if she is hurting even when I ask her.
We went to the University Hospital - we had been told to call them if her ears seem to be bothering her again. By the time we were there Panadol had kicked in and we were wondering if we were a bit hasty. We weren't. This time it's her left ear. The good thing - the very good thing - is that the infection had clearly just started and since we got antibiotics right away and had started giving Panadol then she hasn't been in pain since. In fact she had a ball staying home first with me on Wednesday and then with Daddy yesterday :)
The reason we kept her at home was that there was a distinct chance the ear could become very painful before antibiotics really kick in but thankfully it didn't.
I went to my very first parent evening at the kindergarten yesterday by the way. It was really nice and the other parents, too. We are very blessed even if we've had it pretty rough this fall. Thank you for all your prayers, we have felt them strongly!
