Just something

One of the weird things about this blog template is that what looks good at home doesn't look quite as good on my work computer. The biggest thing being the size of the font. At home it looks a good size at work it looks black and huge. Dont' really know what to do with it, though.
I had a very long working day yesterday due to two long meetings, one straight away in the morning and the other one starting at 5 p.m. I only got home at 8.30 p.m. but to my delight I got to walk straight to dinner table. That was really great and so was dinner.
Today I am then exhausted having not quite slept enough. So, I suspect this is one of those days that I don't get that much done. I think I just might feel like Jeremy's mom in Zits at the end of the day but fortunately I am a bit more like Jeremy myself :).
What needs to be done then? Well, there's the family service on Sunday for which I need to take a look at the liturgy. There's the fall program which consists of also all of the readings for each Sunday. Those do not exist in the internet in a form that you could copy and paste so you do them manually hoping that you won't invent new chapters and verses to the books of Bible. We also need advertisements for the services but Vidal had taken a look at those so I might get to just send them straight away to be copied.
In two weeks time the local newspaper expects short daily devotions for the week and I need to get started with those. In the afternoon there's a meeting with the parish union's committee dealing with immigration questions. I'm the secretary. What else, oh yes, then there are posters to be made for ReadyStudyGo which is a happening for the first year students and we'll be there. And smaller advertisments about what's happening in our congregation to be distributed to the new international students as they come for the First Evensong of the Academic year. Before that I need to get the information going about the evensong itself. There's a chance to climb to the Cathedral tower and that makes it really popular.
I'm not boring you, am I? That's the thing, though, with this job. The visible part are the baptisms, weddings, services, Evensongs etc. but for a huge part of the time you sit in front of the computer writing emails, agendas, sermons and devotions. And an amazingly big part of the writing has to do about distributing information either in the form of posters and ads or then as a response to someone's question. Don't get me wrong I kind of like it, but it is also a challenge to find out ways to be clear and concise and yet give enough information. Who knew that having training in journalism work would come in this handy?

Do you use Firefox in one place and IE elsewhere.

I like the bigger text. It's bold and dark and good for my eyes - and I view this through Firefox at home.

Busy life. Your career in journalism stands you in good stead. And it's great.

Looking forward to some of the events.
