Toes

The above was written by Lotta. If you can figure out what she is saying please tell us, too :). I'm especially perplexed by the o with dots followed by a period AND a comma?

The little one has found that she can not only jam her fists into her mouth but also them toes ;). The photos were taken already over a week ago but I've got a very limited time frame for using the computer per day and there's been email correspondence to take care of. I am, in fact, still behind on it. (My sweet friend Claudi: Thank you!!!!!)

It's incredible how much there is to do each day. Everyone said so and I believed them, too, but it still amazes me. Lotta is a wonderful child in that she sleeps 7-9 hours a night so I'm getting enough sleep but I'm still tired which surprises me, too. The amount of dirty dishes we accumulate per day - and this is basically just me and Lotta - is also weird since the child gets her food straight from the producer :).

I'm starting to think that I'm just exceptionally slow in getting all the household chores done. Everytime there is something extra in the day things immediately start falling apart and our home looks like it was invaded by laundry and dirty dishes and baby clothes and baby toys and newspapers and mail and ... the list is endless. It just may be that the world has not missed on a perfect house wife in me.

I'm just hoping that I'll make for a good enough stay-at-home-mom, though, since I just visited my work place to congratulate my favourite colleague on turning 60 and at the same time told my boss that I'll be staying home with Lotta at least for the next year.

I'm not even aiming at perfection since it's impossible and only leads to frustration and disappointment. I really really want my child to grow to be a healthy, happy woman and I'm thinking that concentrating more on her than on tidiness is the way to go.

The thing is, though, that I like tidiness and have always been inclined to want to have things in their places. So, in advance I thought I would have a bit of a challenge in allowing things to not get done right away once the baby was here. Apparently not so! The first two months Husband's and my roles totally swithced and he started to sound like me. I thought it was really funny but poor Husband found it less amusing. He really had a full time job picking after the baby and me. I'm very sorry honey!

Now I'm getting back to my usual self - and Husband his - and there are days when it even looks somewhat organized here. Mostly not, though. I'm yet to be completely ok with how it now looks like here since I'm by now out of the glorious happiness hormones I was fortunate to have in me after Lotta was born but I really do think that tidiness is not the most important thing in the world. Having a happy child and a happy Husband is. If that means more cuddles, kisses and hugs and less of washing dishes and vacuuming then so be it. Maybe ;).

Hello from USA...your daughter is still so precious! That hair! Those toes in the mouth! She just makes me smile! And yes, the cuddles are more important than the newpapers being picked up! I remember growing up, I'd much rather visit the friends who had "lived in" houses than the ones I was afraid I'd mess up! You sound like a happy mother to me!
