We celebrated my friend LA's 30th and my 42nd birthday on Saturday with friends from my congregation. It was great :). Little girl had been a bit under the weather but we weren't sure weather it was because of her first week in kindergarten and not getting enough sleep or something else.
Sunday we went in the evening to the adventure play ground in Turku and had a blast but the fact that we had (both little girl and I) slept for three hours during nap time should have given me a hint.
Come Monday morning little girl had sniffles, her left eye was watery and full of gunk and she had been coughing in her sleep. She has a cold. Not a bad one but certainly not the easiest kind either.
So, then I called work and the health center and Husband and I don't know who else to let them know I'm not working today. This was the first time for us and I have to admit that it took a while to change gears in mid air from "it's a work day I have all of this and that to do" to "aha, no it isn't a work day I am staying home with my child today".
Little girl is feeling better today and her eye is ok again - yay - but she is still sick. Tomorrow- if she isn't clearly better this evening - Husband stays home with her.
The (possibly, you never know) not so good part is that little girl now hasn't been to kindergarten and I suspect we're close to square one when she returns. Especially since two new teachers - and children too - have come back from summer holiday. But we will take one day at a time. Little girl loves her teddy bear group's other teacher and I just hope she has the possibility to hold her enough once she is back.

Supercute! Love that last picture of the two of you!
Thank you :). I'm about to use that one in FB, too ;). And hey, you found your way here, cool!
She's soooo cute! :) I am afraid you will have tons more sniffles and the chicken pox until you're through the first cycle of seasonal sicknesses that go round the daycare centers... But they say it is still better for kids to get immunity at an early age instead of when starting school...
Get well soon Little Girl!
