Your Love Must Be an Ocean and a Stream
Your love must be an ocean and a stream,
a song and silence, pilgrimage and end.
It will change as will and passion bend,
yet, changeless, be what life can only seem.
Love remains the night beyond the dream,
the choice that cannot choose but reason rend,
the fact that makes a fortune of a friend
and will the travesties of time redeem.
So flow with pleasure down the mountainside
through years and years of paradise and pain,
choosing as you change to stay combined.
For there is something underneath the ride
that you need only turn to, to attain,
a grace so beautiful it stops the wind.

I came accross this beautiful poem by Nicholas Gordon yesterday as I was writing a column about our Blis group for the Parish federation's monthly paper. They tell me that it took too much space (layoutwise) so I had to cut it of from the column. I liked it so much that I wanted to have it somewhere and what better place than the blog.

I found the poem originally from there, too, but couldn't find it on N.G.'s own web pages and the second link I had didn't include the name either. But, I'm working on it :).

No, sorry, I was wrong. It really was the right site I just ended up there from a different direction and didn't realize that the whole site was N.G's own. Will now proceed to write it into the blog, too :).
