It's time

A new kind of pain woke me up this morning at 5.30 and around 8 we left to the hospital because it seemed that my water had broken. However, if it had, there's just a very little hole there and we're now back at home.

The contractions I now have are nasty and the midwife was pretty sure that the baby will be born either later in the evening today or sometime during the night.

We're home since they really are jammed there - the midwife said that it seems every baby in town has decided to be born today :) - and because I can still cope with the pain with a little help from a heatable grain bag and the shower. When I no longer can then we're going back. Or, of course, if the water clearly brakes.

It is so nice that we got to come home rather than having to go to the maternity ward to wait. Husband feels somewhat dislocated since he's supposed to be at work and he isn't. So, he's doing the dishes :). Baby was doing well moving a lot and her heart rate was as it should be. I'm in pain but not in agony yet :).

The interesting thing was that the due date we've gotten first is of all days today :). I'd entirely forgotten it although it's in the "äitiyskortti" i.e. the maternity card we have. A punctual child we're having if she really manages to be born today. I hope for her sake that she does since tomorrow is April Fools' and despite what daddy thinks I don't think she'd quite enjoy having her birthday on April Fools'.
