Three days over the due date

Edited to give an update on the visit to Tyks
So, here we are. We are going to Tyks in an hour or so to meet with the doctor and to hear what happens next. Baby is, as far as I can tell, doing well and kicking around but she does not want to come out! She's also gained weight, judging by my own weight, so we are sure to be well over 4 kilos by now.
Now, I know this was to be expected since it is our first child and they are notorious in that they usually go over the due date. That as such is not even much of an issue. But the size thing is. I'm getting more and more worried that she isn't going to have enough room to come through.
At the same time both her daddy and I have colds. So, on the one hand I hope that it is time very, very soon and on the other hand I wish her daddy and I would get over the colds first. Especially her dad since he is two days behind me and I worry that they won't allow him to hold her once she's born if he's not well.
That is the biggest thing in the world to me; to see my husband hold his new born child. Not even getting to hold her myself is as big. These two are the two I love most in the world and seeing them together is my biggest dream. Excuse me - SNIFFFFF! Right, I'm back. Seriously, though, it really is like that. First the two of them, then me.
But, things will go exactly as they will and our job is to deal with them as they come. To give credit to my body it is doing its best. I've had contractions more and more ever since Saturday - in fact we were both expecting (no pun intended) to head to the hospital on Sunday morning but then things calmed down again. Last night brought with it some really painful ones but here we are; still in one pagage.
The added part:
We're back from Tyks. The weight estimate is now 4,2 kilos and the doctor said that at this point belly babies usually stop gaining much more weight. A 100 grams or so won't make a difference. Baby was moving well and her heart rate was good so she's doing very well. In addition, the doctor said that there's no reason to induce labor since although the baby is somewhat bigger than usual she is not too much so. In other words, we got the best news. I can stop worrying about her size and we just wait until she's ready to come and check us out.
The cold question is not an issue with delivery and after but if the baby has to go to the ICU because of low blood sugar then it will be because of the premies that are there. This we knew and it is of course as it should be.

Oh, that is so sweet :). I've noticed that quite a few others do the same judging by the amount of visits the blog now gets :). And for that reason I really try to write every day now.

Glad that TYKS put you more at ease. The extra days of waiting are awful ( I was a week over with DD and fretted every day right over vappu. (she was born on the 4th)

the good thing is that she's not too big,and you and your beloved have time to get healthier!

I wouldn't be surprised if she's smaller than you fear :) And mums are amazingly able to birth their long-awaited babies. Trust me.

I hope you don't have to go deliver today in this snow storm. Although it would add quite a dramatic effect! ;)

It would indeed :) but although there are contractions on and off its nothing I couldn't handle and I'm told the time to go is when it no longer is something you can handle. Maybe baby is waiting until it gets dark... ;)
